By now, you have probably attempted some of
the exercises that appear at the end of each chapter of
the book. The exercises are designed to be representative
of the type of questions you will undertake for coursework
or examinations. Practice makes perfect, so here we have
provided some further exercises for each chapter (including
Appendix 1). These additional exercises are graded by level
of difficulty in the same way as the exercises at the end
of each chapter of the book and, as a guide, the time typically
required to complete each exercise is also given.
Solutions to all the additional exercises
are also provided to enable you to self-assess your knowledge
and application of the principles and techniques covered
in each chapter. It goes without saying that you should
make a thorough attempt at each exercise before checking
the solution provided.
